At F.D. Fashion Design, conscious, sustainable actions mean environmental and social responsibility and careful use of resources. Our aim is to pass on this awareness to our customers, from the development of our collection to how it feels to wear.

Our sustainability strategy focusses on both people and the environment.

As part of a respectful collaboration with our partners, we promote a positive work environment and ensure mutually humane working conditions in harmony with our Code of Conduct. This Code defines the moral, ethical and social principles that form the basis for our everyday actions and business activities.

F.D. Fashion Design is a member of amfori BSCI, an initiative that supports businesses in improving working conditions across their global supply chains.

Regular amendments, new innovations and a continuous learning process enable us to take responsibility for a better future and become part of a sustainable fashion industry.

We want to develop unique, high-quality designer products that also convey our commitment to people and the environment. Sustainability will become a matter of course for us in the long term without compromising on design, comfort and quality.

We are continuously striving to increase the amount of sustainable materials in our collections. We want to reduce the negative environmental impacts of obtaining raw materials, production and processing as well as transportation of our products.

Clothing and accessories produced from at least 50% sustainably sourced materials can be identified by our special KARL CARES hangtag. The proportion of the collection containing KARL CARES models is currently 30%.

The materials and production or procurement processes that we consider sustainable include organic, recycled, organic-based, recyclable and reusable materials as well as RWS-certified wool (Responsible Wool Standard) and LWG-certified leather (Leather Working Group).

We have decided to no longer use certain materials or fibres, or replace them with alternatives. These include those which endanger species and biodiversity as a result of their procurement, those which do not respect animal welfare or whose production/disposal have a significant impact on our environment.

The raw materials used for our packaging materials such as paper hangtags, carry bags, shirt packaging and wooden clothes’ hangers are exclusively obtained from sustainably managed and FSC-certified forests (Forest Stewardship Council).

Our transport hangers and protective film are made from recycled and reusable plastic. Effective plastic recycling is one of our active contributions towards climate protection.
